The WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus declared that COVID-19 is over as a global health emergency at the media briefing, 5 May 2023.
The WHO Emergency Committee met on 4 May 2023 for the 15th time and recommended to the WHO Director-General to declare an end to the public health emergency of international concern.
