CECC visits 22 counties and cities to discuss strategies for increasing COVID-19 vaccination rates and obtain feedback from local governments on COVID-19 response
The Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) stated that, in order to fully prepare for the reopening of Taiwan’s borders and coordinate efforts with local governments and cooperate with each other to protect the health and safety of the public, the CECC began visiting the executives of cities and counties to discuss strategies for increasing COVID-19 vaccination rates and receive feedback from local governments about COVID-19-related measures. Today, CECC Commander Wang Pi-sheng and spokesperson Chuang Jen-Hsiang visited Kaohsiung City and Tainan City to provide advice on vaccination campaigns and other epidemic prevention work. They also learned of the two cities’ experiences of the implementation of relevant measures, which will be used as important references for subsequent policy adjustments.
The CECC emphasized that it is only with the cooperation and effort of each local government that every policy could be successfully implemented and effective after the COVID-19 outbreak. The CECC hopes that this round of visits will enhance communication and collaboration between the central and local governments. This will help achieve the goals of improving immunity of citizens, protecting the health of citizens, optimizing preventive vaccination services, and improving various epidemic prevention measures to go the last mile.
