Taiwan to ease current mask mandate and related epidemic prevention measures starting December 1
The Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that it will loosen its mask-wearing rules and related epidemic prevention measures on December 1; related details are listed below.
A. The requirement that people need to wear a mask at all times outdoors will be discontinued. However, the mask-wearing rules for outdoor, large-scale year-end/New Year’s Eve countdown events will be further discussed based on recent developments in the pandemic situation.
B. The mask mandate, which requires masks to be worn at all times, will remain in place for indoor settings (including inside a vehicle, such as train, ship, and aircraft). A face mask will not be required in some situations.
