Executive Yuan announces appointments of new Minister of Health and Welfare, Deputy Minister of Health and Welfare, CECC Commander, and chief epidemic prevention adviser; Premier Su expects pandemic work to be performed seamlessly to protect the health of people
At a press conference on July 15, Executive Yuan spokesman Lo Ping-cheng (羅秉成) announced that the current Deputy Minister of Health and Welfare Hsueh Jui-Yuan (薛瑞元) will take up the post of Minister of Health and Welfare and that Wang Pi-Sheng (王必勝), CEO of the Hospital and Social Welfare Organizations Administration Commission under the Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW), will take up the post of Deputy Minister of Health and Welfare and serve as CECC Commander. The spokesman also announced that Deputy Minister of Health and Welfare Lee, Li-Feng will remain in her current position. In addition, the Executive Yuan has named Professor Chang Shan-Chwen (張上淳), convener of the CECC expert consultation committee, as the Executive Yuan's chief epidemic prevention adviser. In this capacity, Chang will attend the Executive Yuan's important epidemic prevention meetings with the new Minister of Health and Welfare and CECC Commander.
