Pooled testing adopted to effectively control risks, increase community PCR testing capacity and quickly break chain of transmission

font:

The Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) pointed out that in response to constant adjustments to border controls and epidemic prevention measures, pooled testing is considered feasible to increase PCR testing capacity at the community level to maintain epidemic prevention capacity, bring social and economic activity back to normal, and efficiently manage associated risks; the pooling method can quickly break the chain of transmission through early detection of virus carriers. At present, a 1:10 pooling ratio is only applicable to populations with low incidence. For suspected cases with a high risk of infection, non-pooled testing is still adopted to maintain accuracy of testing.
