CECC continues to implement five enhanced surveillance programs to detect domestic COVID-19 cases early and protect people's health
The Central Epidemic Command Center announced that in response to the severity of the global COVID-19 outbreak and the risk of the Omicron variant spreading in Taiwan's communities, it will launch enhanced COVID-19 surveillance programs starting August 30 2021, to detect domestic cases and break chains of transmission early. As of January 22, 2022, the programs are as follows:
1. Enhanced community surveillance;
2. Monitoring of specific high-risk workers at international airports/ports;
3. Waste water monitoring;
4. Surveillance on imported frozen food packaging at the border;
5. Investigations on prevalence of SARS-CoV-2 antibodies among blood donors.
