Starting today, CECC to adjust management measures for visitors, caregivers, and healthcare personnel in hospitals in response to new confirmed domestic Omicron cases

On January 9, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that it will introduce the medical responsive measures listed below in Taipei City, New Taipei City, Keelung City, and Taoyuan City starting today in response to new confirmed domestic cases of the variant Omicron.

The Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that it will introduce the medical responsive measures listed below in Taiwan starting today in response to new confirmed domestic cases of the variant Omicron.

  1. Hospitals will ban visits with certain exceptions.
  2. Who have lived in those four cities within 14 days or more before admission should take a government-funded test within three days before admission if they are admitted for non-emergencies; those admitted for emergencies should take a government-funded test before admission.
  3. In principle, one individual is allowed for one hospitalized patient
  4. Healthcare personnel from each unit (except for dedicated wards) of every hospital in Taoyuan City should undergo a government-funded test every week if they haven't completed primary series vaccination for 14 days or more.
