In response to global resurgence of COVID-19 infections and continued spread of Delta variant, strict border control measures-Non-R.O.C. nationals without a valid ARC as well as transit travelers being temporarily barred from entry― remain in place during period of Level 2 epidemic alert
On July 26, CECC announced that it will lower the epidemic alert to Level 2, effective from July 27, but it will continue to implement tight border control measures given the global resurgence of COVID-19 infections and the continued spread of the Delta variant. Strict border controls include the following measures:
A. Non-R.O.C. nationals without a valid Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) are temporarily barred from entry. Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis for individuals who obtain entry permission for emergency or humanitarian reasons.
B. Transit travelers are temporarily barred from entry. Those measures will be adjusted by the CECC on a rolling basis based on the status of the pandemic at home and abroad and the effectiveness of COVID-19 control measures implemented in the community.
