Ministry of Health and Welfare revokes May 31 Announcement of Lienchiang County and June 1 Announcements of Penghu and Kinmen Counties
The Lienchiang county government on May 31; the Penghu and Kinmen county governments on June 1 announced without the CECC's authorization that travelers arriving at the airports in the three counties are required to undergo rapid testing. The announcements violate Paragraph 3, Article 37 of the Communicable Disease Control Act and other related laws which prescribe that measures adopted by local competent authorities shall be implemented during the period when the Central Epidemic Command Center is in existence in accordance with instructions of its commander. Therefore, the announcements are revoked by the Ministry of Health and Welfare so as to uphold the legal system.
