On May 14, 2021, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that the Taiwan Social Distance app, co-developed by Taiwan CDC, the National Information & Communication Security Taskforce and Taiwan AI Labs, had been launched to optimize COVID-19 surveillance and investigation and to reduce the risk of community transmission. Public urged to use this app to receive information about COVID-19 spread so as to protect each other from the virus.
