From March 19th onwards, the Travel Notices for 20 countries from Asia and Eastern Europe and 3 USA States were increased to Level 3 (Warning). All other USA states were increased to Level 2 (Alert).

The recent outbreaks in Asian countries outside of China worsened. The number of confirmed cases exceeded 10,000, and steadily increased. Many countries declared a state of emergency and adopted strict border control and quarantine measures. Moreover, the recent outbreaks in the United States also continued to rise. Due to the risk of infection to travelers, starting on midnight 19 March, Taiwan issued Level 3 travel alerts for 19 Asian countries (except for China (including Hong Kong and Macao), South Korea and Central Asian countries that were already declared Level 3 travel alerts (Warning),), 1 Eastern European country and 3 US states:
1. Asia: Japan, Singapore, North Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Brunei, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, East Timor, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, India and Maldives. (totaling 19 countries)
2. Eastern Europe: Moldova.
3. United States: Washington, New York and California. (totaling 3 states)
4. Besides the just mentioned three American states, Taiwan issued Level 2 travel alerts (Alert) for the rest of the United States. People going to these areas should take extra precautions. After returning to Taiwan, they must conduct a 14-day self-health management.
