With the opening of schools, Taiwan intended to prevent an outbreak among schoolchildren. To facilitate the purchase of  child masks, the "Name-based Mask Distribution System" modified the allocation of child masks starting 27 February (Thursday):
1. The National Health Insurance card for children under 13 was not subject to rationing based on odd/even numbers. Instead, they could purchase masks daily, but would still be limited to one purchase every 7 days.
2. Each person could purchase masks on behalf of up to 3 children age 13 or younger with their national health insurance cards.
