Announcing the entry restrictions for Chinese nationals from entering into Taiwan.
Given that the COVID-19 cases in China continued to increase, on January 25th, Central Epidemic Command Center convened a meeting with representatives from each Ministry to discuss and develop the restriction on entry to Taiwan by Chinese citizens with the following resolutions:
1. All Hubei Province citizens were not allowed to enter Taiwan.
2. In addition to Hubei Province, applications for tourism, social exchanges, professional exchanges, aesthetic medicines, and health examination were not accepted at this time. Entry of Chinese citizens who have obtained an Entry Permit should be postponed. However, if the application for epidemic prevention exchange, medical humanitarian aid, marriage reunion and spouse accompanying for social exchanges, on-site services for professional exchange, and investment and management (including accompanying persons) has been approved, the applicants should conduct health self-management for 14 days.
3. From January 23 to February 9, Chinese students were not allowed to enter Taiwan.
4. For business exchanges activities, except for performance of contracts and internal transfer of multinational companies (including the accompanying persons), the application was suspended; entry of Chinese citizens who have obtained an Entry Permit should be postponed. Those whose entry have been approved should conduct health self-management for 14 days.
5. Chinese spouses' (including those in Hubei Province) residence was restricted with 14-day self-health management.
6. Three-small-link ports/airports: All Chinese citizens were not allowed to go to Kinmen, Mazu, and Penghu through these airports/ports (including social exchanges, arts and business activities, studying, and traveling); entry of Chinese citizens who have obtained an Entry Permit should be postponed.
