Holding the1st Meeting on “Emergency response measures to pneumonia of an unknown cause originating from China”, culminating in the establishment of the Epidemic Response Team. Official notice sent to all medical institutions to request physicians to report all cases with suspected symptoms and patients with travel history from Wuhan.
The readiness and preparedness meeting was convened for the pneumonia epidemic in Wuhan, China, and experts gave the following suggestions:
1. In addition to the on-board quarantine, healthcare institutions keep a close watch on patients with clinical severe pneumonia who went from Wuhan to Taiwan.
2. Remind the medical staff of strict implementation of the standard precautions for infections; when performing the intrusive medical treatments, such as intubation and tracheostomy, an N95 mask should be worn.
3. Upon the arrival, passengers with fever or influenza-like symptoms should actively inform the airline staff and quarantine personnel at airports and ports.
4. The citizens who had recently traveled to Wuhan, China should call the toll-free 1922 hotline, wear a mask, and go to see a doctor if they had fever or acute respiratory symptoms within 10 days after going back to Taiwan. When seeing a doctor, they should actively tell the TOCC (travel, occupation, contact, and cluster) information.
